Founder & CEO for Sharkbite Games, Inc.
Rick Ellis is responsible for development and business operations of Sharkbite Games. Rick is a 20+ year veteran of the games industry having previously worked at Valve Software (Steam, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike), Monolith Productions (Condemned, F.E.A.R.2), ArenaNet (Guild Wars 2), THQ (Destroy All Humans!), Motiga (Gigantic) and Z2/King Games (Paradise Bay).
Being a software engineer by trade, Rick initially contributed to the technical side of building games and later moved into the production and business management of large teams and complete studios.
Rick holds an Economics degree from the University of Washington.
Chief Administrative Officer for Sharkbite Games, Inc.
Susan Mackey-Ellis is responsible for the Human Resources, Accounting and Facilities Management functions at Sharkbite Games. Prior to starting the company with her husband Rick, Susan worked in the Employee Benefits Field for many decades. Her broad experience spanned all aspects of the industry including insurance companies (Prudential, Symetra) and in the Human Resources field (Jardine Emmet & Chandler) both in Seattle and San Francisco.
Susan spent most of her time as an Employee Benefits Consultant (Kibble & Prentice, AON, MCM), arranging and monitoring employee benefit plans for large companies. She is a people person with a keen attention to detail and strategic planning.
Susan has a Business Administration degree from City University.
Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer for Cancer Research And Biostatistics (CRAB)
Tammy Buist is the Vice President and Chief Business Development officer for a Cancer non-profit research Institute, CRAB. She contributes pharmaceutical, biotechnology, venture capital and consulting experience. Serving on the founding management team for three start-up companies, two of which went public, Ms. Buist offers knowledge in start-ups, financing and negotiations.
Before joining CRAB, Ms. Buist was a founder or executive team member of four start-up biotechnology companies including Tekmira Pharmaceuticals, Epigenomics, Targeted Growth and AnorMED. She has worked in the life sciences arena for several decades and it responsible for negotiating several hundred million dollars of deal flow. She has a keen business sense with seasoned finance, business development, scientific and strategic expertise.
Ms. Buist has an M.B.A. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology specializing in finance and human resource management. She holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Whitman College.
Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Avalara
has been a strategic partner and has served on our board since the beginning of Sharkbite Games.
She has a wealth of experience with fast growth companies. Areas of specialty include: Corporate Financing Transactions, M&A, IPOs, Legal, Accounting, Leadership Development and Human Resources, Governance, SEC Compliance, Intellectual Property, Data Privacy and Security, Litigation Management, International Expansion, and Executive Compensation.
Ms. Pinney holds a B.A. in Business Administration in Accounting from Seattle University, a Master of Taxation from the University of Denver, College of Law, and a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
